Welcome to the page where you submit videos for VCAST (Verizon's mobile
network) and iTunes, etc.
I need
to build this page when I have more time but for now, so we can go ahead and
get your vids right away, please send them this way.
WHAT THIS IS ABOUT:
SkydiverGirls is a Video Podcast about skydiving and living life to the fullest.
Shows are designed to expose our sport to the masses by giving them a peek
inside skydiving through the eyes of girls who are passionate about it.
SkydiverGirls episodes are generally 3 minutes in length and can be found on
hundreds of networks and websites including SkydiverGirls.com, MySpace,
Skydiving Network, iTunes, Facebook, and now VCAST. VCAST is a huge deal
because it alone has 20 million viewers and is a mobile phone network
We created
SkydiverGirls Out-Takes for sharing clips that might not fit the format
of our regular episodes. In these Out-Takes shows, anything goes (as long
as it's "family friendly"). These clips include all things interesting to
our audience... skydiver-guys, neat to see stuff even if it's not skydiving,
tips about skydiving, testimonials about skydiving, etc. Out-Takes are
also distributed on VCAST and all other channels that SkydiverGirls regular
episodes are on. I've been building SkydiverGirls for a few years now and
getting a distribution channel on VCAST is a huge accomplishment that I am
thrilled to be able to share with you.
I'm happy
to offer an avenue to my skydiving friends for getting your clips on VCAST.
I can get your work distributed on all of the channels I mentioned above and
credit you as well.
If you'd
like to share something about our sport with the rest of the world and like the
idea that it can be viewed on cell phones and be on iTunes etc., this is for
you.
If you're
trying to make money off of your videos, good luck and do let me know how you
can do that as I'll be right behind you in line for some cash myself. The
reality is that there are tons of videos on the internet and most people are
trying to gain mass distribution over channels that I've finally been able to
establish. It's like getting your clip played on TV and being happy they
aired it vs. denying them unless they pay you. I for one, am happy to get
the exposure.
You may,
however, give me info to put on your clip that promotes your video business,
your coaching, skydive school, drop zone, boogie, etc. In this essence,
you are being offered free advertising for your skydiving related business to my
audience.
HOW TO DO IT:
Please
email me, kfc@skydivergirls.com
with the following information:
1.
Your name (legal)
2.
Your email address (primary contact method)
3.
Link to the video on your server where I can download it. If this
is a problem and your vid is small enough, email it to me.
4.
Credit information for the video. This can be whatever you want
(nothing or everything). Suggestions include your name, the people
in the vid, the videographer, location, date, event, etc. Provide
this as you want it displayed in the video credits.
5.
Statement from you that you have permission to use anyone who can be
recognized in the video. I know this is a pain but in today's
legal world, it's necessary.
Specs:
-
You can send me pretty much any format of video (.wmv, .mov, .m4v, etc).
If I cannot convert it for my use, I'll contact you and we'll sort it
out.
-
Vids should be one minute or less in length.
-
I
will edit all videos with SkydiverGirls logos and VCAST etc. You
are authorizing this when you send it to me.
-
I
cannot use any music without specific permissions. If you don't
own the track, don't bother sending it. Any tracks in videos
without specific information about ownership will be removed for legal
reasons. Sorry but my relationship with VCAST is strict on this
point.
-
Guys are welcome to play. Yes, we're SkydiverGirls but these clips
will be part of our "Out-Takes" episodes which includes short clips of
interest to extreme sports enthusiasts and covers a broad spectrum of
entertainment. If it's a fun clip, and you want to share it with
more than 20 million viewers and have it available on cell phones, bring
it on!
I'm
excited about my VCAST relationship and thrilled to be able to share it with
my friends. More interest and exposure around extreme sports means more
participation and growth.
